Whilst online video is becoming
the "must have" promotional medium it's now competing with its own success,
viewer attention and memory retention.

When we produced Herefordshire & Worcestershire's Business
Expo feature we decided upon a treatment that replicated a short, pacey, news
feature with a reporter on the hoof. However, behind the scene, it was anything
but "on the hoof". Everything was carefully planned in advance then executed on
set about creating a storyline identifying key points to cover: The networking
breakfast, official opening, seminars, information about the Chamber, the
exhibition stands and some sound bites.
We obtained all the required
filming permissions from those such as Oakland International and Hewett
Recruitment, as we had planned to film whilst their chief executives were
speaking in the backgrounds, the event organiser, venue owner and asked the
Chamber of Commerce to publish a public filming notice. Radio frequencies were
also checked with PSG, the event services provider handling the public address
Script, rehearsals and third
A precise script was written for Michelle Scott, our
reporter, to learn. This was rehearsed on location including delivery timings,
the trackings to follow and the distances to travel.

Finally the entire project was filmed
using a Steadycam stabiliser rig and harness to create that "on the move" feel,
by producing sequences without the use of cutaways. The final sequence was a
continuous, uninterrupted 2-minute shot.
The final video was uploaded
within 24 hours to be seen on both videointeractiveCoUk and hwchambercommerce
YouTube Channels. It will also be used to promote next year's event through the
H & W Chamber of Commerce website, social media platforms such as Facebook,
Linked In and Twitter
